PhD candidate

PhD candidates participate in IRDE during the on-site visit, where they provide the evaluation panel with their perspective on how doctoral education works in practice, the conditions for research and study, and their experience of the programme environment.

what is expected of phd candidates
  • Participation in a selected meeting with the evaluation panel.

  • Open and constructive discussion of their experience of doctoral education.

  • Sharing both strengths and areas where there is room for improvement.

  • Providing their own experience and perspective rather than an “official position” of the unit or programme.

The meeting is intended to provide the panel with authentic feedback from PhD candidates and is not an assessment of individual students.
